The MoMA PS1 visited us for the bustling Art Week in February in Mexico City!

We had a dynamic program centered on contemporary art, creative practice, and meaningful exchange during one of the city’s most vibrant cultural moments.

The visit brought together institutional spaces, private encounters, and closer engagement with artists, collectors, and the ideas shaping Mexico’s evolving artistic landscape. Moving across exhibitions, architecture, and personal dialogue, the experience reflected the energy and diversity of the contemporary art scene.

That same week, we toured with a beautiful group from the Walker Art Center!

They came for a Mexico City journey shaped by the intersection of contemporary art, architecture, history, and public life. The experience moved between major cultural institutions, private collections, artist led encounters, and spaces that revealed both the city’s creative experimentation and its historical depth. From intimate conversations to broader explorations of visual culture and the built environment, the itinerary encouraged a nuanced understanding of how past and present continue to inform one another.

The British Museum joined us in Mexico City and Oaxaca

We went through a thoughtfully curated journey through central and southern Mexico designed around archaeology, history, architecture, and living cultural traditions.

The program balanced landmark heritage experiences with meaningful local encounters, creating space for deeper understanding across both ancient and contemporary contexts. Through specialized access, cultural depth, and carefully selected culinary experiences, the visit reflected a rich dialogue between place, material culture, and community.

We were so excited to receive the Storm King Art Center !

Our program was shaped around contemporary artistic practice, architecture, and creative exchange. The visit brought together important cultural institutions, private encounters, and opportunities to engage more closely with artists, collections, and the city’s evolving visual language. Moving between built space, materiality, and personal conversation, the experience highlighted the many ways art is lived, discussed, and experienced in Mexico today. It was an exploration grounded in curiosity, intimacy, and a deeper connection to artistic practice.

Barragán: a Spiritual Master

This gem of a coffee-table book was produced by art collector and philanthropist Robert Duncan, who has taken beautiful and tasteful photographs of Barragán sites during his many visits to Mexico City.

The essay that Nelsa Farrugia, founder of Mexico Cultural Travel, wrote for this book ended up giving it its tittle. You can read the full text here.

Thank you to Robert Duncan for inviting MCT to collaborate on your Photo Book about Luis Barragán's work.
